The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Wellesley College announces a search for a tenure-track assistant professor position in premodern Chinese language and literature. Research field is open but excludes candidates in modern and contemporary literature and film.  Desirable sub-fields include but are not limited to classical poetry of Tang and Song, classical theater, classical fiction, and vernacular fiction of Ming and Qing.  History of the book and gender are other welcome areas of research specialization.
