The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures (EALC) at the University of California, Davis, invites applications for the position of part-time Lecturer of Japanese Literature/Culture to teach one or more classes starting in the fall quarter of the 2022-2023 academic year. Specifically, we seek a candidate to teach upper-division courses in modern literature/culture (in English translation). The successful candidate would ideally teach one of our approved electives, such as “The ‘Other’ in Modern Japanese Literature and Culture” or “Japanese Popular Culture,” but other possibilities will be considered. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. This appointment is renewable contingent on departmental teaching needs.
