Assistant Professor of Japanese
The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at North Carolina State University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in contemporary Japanese cultural studies to begin in the fall of 2022. Other fields will be considered.  Applicants must demonstrate excellence in scholarly research and have experience in teaching college courses. Native or near-native proficiency in both Japanese and English is required. At the time of employment, applicants must hold a PhD in Asian studies, cultural anthropology, literature, or a related discipline with a research focus on Japan. Preference will be given to candidates whose research interests include ethnicity, gender, sexuality, intersectionality, migration, postcolonialism, and/or Inter-As
